What’s the best part of travel?

Welcome to SummerofBeth.com! As I embark on this adventure of sharing past travel experiences, future trips, and whatever else pops into my head along the way, I want to thank you for joining me on the journey. I’m by no means a great writer, but I do love sharing life — especially when it comes to travel.

While setting up SummerofBeth.com, I kept coming back to the same question: What is my favorite part of travel? Is it the planning? The anticipation of a great trip? The people you travel with; or, the people you meet along the way? Is it coming home and reminiscing about the memories you made?

The only conclusion I’ve reached is… all of the above. Every stage of travel is my favorite.

Diving into the search for the perfect place to stay, daydreaming about what each day will look like once I arrive, sending countdown texts to my travel companions, and meeting people who turn a great trip into a lifelong memory. And while it’s always a little sad to come home, the end of a wonderful trip leaves your heart full and your memories abundant.

I feel incredibly lucky to have had some amazing experiences while traveling across our country and around the world. I can’t wait to continue exploring — and to share those adventures with you along the way.

So tell me… what’s your favorite part of travel? I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait for the journeys ahead.

Congratulations on your new blog, Beth! ✈️ 🌎

I can’t wait to see what you share, but I know it’ll be fun and educational! Because that’s my favorite part of travel: learning new things about new places and people.

From the trip planning phase where I can dig deep and learn about the geography to the regional foods to the language. I love to immerse myself in as much advanced research as possible so that I can just enjoy the few precious hours I’m actually on vacation without wondering where I’m going or what my options are.

Then, on the trip itself, I love exploring, wandering, checking things out that pop up along the way. So fun!
