Every summer tells a story

A few summers ago on my quest to visit all 50 states my bestie and I went on a road trip along the coast of Oregon.  We stopped in a cute town called Florence.  While in Florence we did some shopping and I purchased a card holder for my wallet that said every summer tells a story.  As someone who loves summer and invests a lot of time and planning into summer; I couldn’t agree more.

When I think of summer there are two different stories that get told.  First is the story of planning and visualizing the trip and then the second story is what actually happened while taking the trip.  That’s what I find so exciting about planning a trip; you can never anticipate the full story of what you’ll experience. From inside jokes to meeting new people, there are so many different ways a trip is influenced. From time to time there are the flat tires and travel days gone wrong that add to the story but can never fully detract from the journey.

My theme for this summer is cruising; one trip I will be cruising through the country via a road trip and the other trip I will be cruising through the ocean on a ship.  I’m equally excited for both trips.  Both trips are going to lead to experiences I can’t anticipate in this moment, and potentially I’ll meet people who could become lifelong friends or see the beauty of our world in a most unexpected way.  You just never know what experience is going to end up making the biggest impact and become a story you’ll want to retell forever!

The anticipation of summer 2026 is building and I’m ready to live it’s story!

PS- All of the pictures are from our stop in Florence, Oregon. Florence had the best peppermint ice cream at their local ice cream shop!
